PTE

Re-tell Lecture: Summarizes a spoken lecture or presentation.

Reading (32-41 minutes)

Multiple Choice, Single Answer: Selects the correct option from several choices.
Multiple Choice, Multiple Answers: Selects multiple correct options from a list.
Re-order Paragraphs: Rearranges paragraphs to create a coherent text.
Reading Fill in the Blanks: Completes sentences with the correct words.

Listening (45-57 minutes)

Summarize Spoken Text: Listens to a spoken text and writes a summary.
Multiple Choice, Multiple Answers: Selects multiple correct options based on a listening passage.
Fill in the Blanks: Completes the blanks in a transcript of a listening passage.
Highlight Correct Summary: Identifies the correct summary of a listening passage.
Multiple Choice, Single Answer: Selects the correct option based on a listening passage.
Select Missing Word: Identifies the missing word in a transcript.

Scoring

PTE Academic is scored on a scale of 10-90, with increments of 1 point. Each section is individually scored, and the overall score is the sum of the section scores.

Test Format

PTE Academic is a computer-based test conducted at Pearson test centers. The entire test is completed in a single sitting.

Validity

PTE Academic scores are generally valid for up to two years.
